1 Inference- the act of drawing a conclusion that is not actually stated
ex The inspector made an inference on how the people were killed
2 Allusion- When ever a person refers to a person, place poem,book or movie
ex: I was mader than Dirty Harry after he found out how his wife was killed
3 Flashback- a secne that interrupts the ongoing action in a story to show an event that happened eariler.
Ex: In the flashback the killer is revealed.
4 rite of passage - the young adult must undergo some ritual or test to become an adult
ex:
5 Foil- a character whose qualities or actions usually serve to emphasize the actions of the main character
6 exposition- when the setting and characters are introduced
